War

Hello morning, the night is gone
Like a shifty thief, the job is done
The jewel has been stolen
The place has been wrecked
Reconnaissance turned into a gambling bet
When the dice have been shaken
The troops leave for war
Leaving behind the dead to even the score
We are not an equal
We are not your slaves
So let’s break this tie we use
To stop your hateful ways
And when the day has come again
We all leave for home
Leaving all our children and women all alone

War calls across from this place
Gunmen lined up face to face
Bayonets cripple lost men
Drunkards die, their bodies spent

Here come the soldiers soon
The battles started, bloodshed resumes
They have taken all our lives
Our souls are angry, we want war
Words mean nothing
When you don’t know what they’re used for
So the tables have turned
It seems we have the ace
Now hand me the chips
And well see how much you’ve learned
Don’t be afraid
Death is far from here
There is no peace
There is no fear
And when the night has come again
We all leave for war
Take up our shining guns and even the score

War calls across from this place
Gunmen lined up face to face
Bayonets cripple lost men
Drunkards die, their bodies spent
Their bodies spent on War
